I grew up in the age where a smack to the rear end as punishment was commonplace, whether it was with a hand, belt or wooden spoon. I knew my parents were serious and quickly learned a repeat scenario was evident for another infraction. This definitely made me think twice the next time I had the temptation to be devious.

The days of disciplining with a "spanking" or open-handed smack to the hand, face or rear end have come and gone.

Acquitted 'spanking judge' to announce political intentions

"Spanking Judge" Herman Thomas

MOBILE, Ala. -- Herman Thomas will hold a news conference Wednesday to announce his intentions in regard to a state Senate seat held by a woman who just months ago testified against the former Mobile County Circuit Court judge in his sexual abuse trial.

Vivian Davis Figures occupies the seat and has said she will run for re-election. Figures testified against Thomas in his October trial. Her son was one of the men whom prosecutors accused Thomas of victimizing.

The trial captivated Mobile's legal community and the public at large, as several young men testified that Thomas told them to pull down their pants for a whipping or go back to jail. Some said the judge made them masturbate for him inside a secluded room near his chambers in Government Plaza. Thomas' attorneys aggressively challenged the credibility of the witnesses on the basis of their criminal records.

The jury found Thomas not guilty of sex abuse, sodomy and assault, and the judge acquitted him of 14 more charges that jurors had deadlocked on.

Why has it been so long since this blog was updated?

I have not updated the Birmingham Spanking blog since late August 2009. 

The primary reason for the lack of updates was that Google/Blogger had locked down a large number of other spanking and other gay content blogs.  I did not want to make the investment of time and energy to maintain this blog and have Google/Blogger lock it down and have all the work be for nothing. Several of the blogs which were locked by Google/Blogger have been unlocked and restored [although not all of them].  So I have decided that I may begin to update this blog periodically and perhaps on a regular basis once again.

I appreciate the comments and emails that I have received from several of you expressing your appreciation for this blog and also inquiring as to why it had not been updated.  It is always nice to know that others enjoy your efforts.
