Why adult "boys" want or need spankings

A few years ago, a spanker shared this with me.

The reasons an adult "boy" wants or needs a spanking are quite varied but usually include one or more of the following:
  • He is a masochist
  • He has some sort of sexual desire for a spanking
  • He enjoys the excitement of giving up control to another person
  • He has deep rooted guilt that needs purging (usually over and over again)
  • He wants to be punished for specific misdeeds to motivate himself to improve his behavior
  • He wants to re-live his childhood experiences
  • He wants to experience what he did not get as a child (like his childhood friends received)
  • It is a macho thing - He wants to prove to himself that he can take it.
